These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Taptiva website, mobile applications, APIs, subdomains, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) operated by Taptiva Technologies (“Taptiva”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. About Taptiva
Taptiva is a platform that enables users to purchase airtime, mobile data, and other future supported digital services using Bitcoin Lightning payments.
Taptiva may introduce additional products and services from time to time.

2. Eligibility
To use Taptiva, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
- Provide accurate account information;
- Comply with these Terms and applicable laws.
You may not use Taptiva if doing so would violate any applicable law or regulation.
3. Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account.
You may be required to provide:
- Username
- Email address
- Password
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information;
- Keep your information updated;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- Accept responsibility for activities conducted through your account.
You are responsible for securing your password and account access.
4. Account Security
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.
You must immediately notify Taptiva if:
- You suspect unauthorized access;
- Your password has been compromised;
- Your account security has been affected.
Taptiva is not responsible for losses resulting from your failure to secure your account.
5. Bitcoin Lightning Payments
Taptiva uses the Bitcoin Lightning Network as a payment mechanism.
When you initiate a purchase, Taptiva generates a Lightning invoice for the exact amount required for the transaction.
To complete a purchase:
- You request a service.
- Taptiva generates a Lightning invoice.
- You pay the invoice from your Lightning wallet.
- Taptiva verifies payment.
- Taptiva initiates fulfillment of the requested service.
A purchase is not considered paid until Taptiva confirms successful receipt of the Lightning payment.
6. Non-Custodial Service
Taptiva is a non-custodial service.
Taptiva does not:
- Hold customer Bitcoin balances;
- Store customer funds;
- Control customer wallets;
- Possess customer private keys;
- Possess customer recovery phrases or seed phrases.
Users maintain full responsibility for their own Bitcoin wallets and wallet security.
Taptiva cannot recover lost Bitcoin resulting from:
- Lost seed phrases;
- Compromised wallets;
- User mistakes;
- Unauthorized access to user wallets.
7. Service Fulfillment
Following successful payment verification, Taptiva will attempt to fulfill the requested service.
Services may include:
- Airtime purchases;
- Mobile data purchases;
- Additional digital services introduced in the future.
Fulfillment may depend on third-party providers and network operators.
8. Third-Party Service Providers
Taptiva relies on third-party service providers and network infrastructure, including VTU providers, mobile network operators, hosting providers, and other service providers.
Because these providers operate independently of Taptiva:
- Availability cannot be guaranteed at all times;
- Processing times may vary;
- Outages and delays may occur.
Taptiva is not responsible for failures caused solely by third-party systems beyond our reasonable control.
9. Correct Recipient Information
You are responsible for ensuring that recipient details are correct before submitting a transaction.
This includes:
- Phone numbers;
- Network selections;
- Service selections;
- Purchase amounts.
If you provide incorrect information, the service may be delivered to the wrong recipient.
Taptiva is not obligated to reverse, recover, or replace services successfully delivered using information provided by you.
10. Failed Transactions
A transaction may fail due to:
- Service provider issues;
- Network disruptions;
- Technical errors;
- Processing failures;
- Other unforeseen circumstances.
Where a transaction fails after payment has been confirmed, Taptiva will investigate the matter and take reasonable steps to resolve it.
Users may contact support through the in-app support system or designated support channels.
Resolution times may vary depending on the circumstances and involvement of third-party providers.
11. Pending Transactions
Some transactions may remain in a pending state while verification or processing is completed.
Pending transactions may:
- Eventually succeed;
- Eventually fail;
- Require manual review.
Users should allow reasonable processing time before reporting a pending transaction.
If a transaction remains unresolved, Taptiva may investigate and determine the appropriate resolution.
12. Duplicate Payments
If multiple payments are made for the same transaction or invoice due to user error or technical issues, Taptiva may investigate the matter.
Any corrective action, refund, or adjustment will be handled at Taptiva's discretion after reviewing transaction records.
Users should contact support promptly if duplicate payments occur.
13. Expired Lightning Invoices
Lightning invoices may expire after a specified period.
If an invoice expires before payment is completed:
- The invoice may become invalid;
- The associated purchase request may be cancelled;
- A new invoice may be required.
Users should ensure they pay invoices before expiration.
14. Refunds
Because Bitcoin and Lightning transactions operate differently from traditional payment systems, refunds may not always be possible or immediate.
Where a verified payment has been received and a service cannot be delivered, Taptiva may, after investigation:
- Reattempt fulfillment;
- Issue an appropriate refund;
- Provide another reasonable resolution.
Refund decisions are made based on transaction records, service-provider responses, and the circumstances of each case.
Refund abuse may result in account restrictions or termination.
15. Support Services
Taptiva provides support channels to assist users with legitimate issues.
When contacting support:
- Provide accurate information;
- Cooperate with investigation requests;
- Avoid abusive, threatening, or fraudulent conduct.
Support conversations may be recorded and retained for quality assurance, security, dispute resolution, and operational purposes.
16. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use Taptiva for unlawful purposes;
- Engage in fraud or attempted fraud;
- Abuse, disrupt, or interfere with the Services;
- Circumvent security controls;
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
- Reverse engineer or exploit the platform;
- Use automated systems in a manner that harms the Services;
- Submit false information;
- Impersonate another person or entity.
Taptiva may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action.
17. Suspension and Termination
Taptiva may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Services if:
- These Terms are violated;
- Fraudulent activity is suspected;
- Security risks are identified;
- Required by law;
- Necessary to protect Taptiva, its users, or third parties.
Termination may occur without prior notice where circumstances reasonably require immediate action.
18. Intellectual Property
The Services, including software, designs, logos, branding, text, graphics, and related materials, are owned by or licensed to Taptiva.
These materials are protected by intellectual-property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants ownership rights to users.
Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit Taptiva intellectual property without prior written permission.
19. Service Availability
Taptiva strives to provide reliable services but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Services may be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance;
- System upgrades;
- Security events;
- Provider outages;
- Internet disruptions;
- Circumstances beyond Taptiva's control.
Taptiva may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
20. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taptiva disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties relating to:
- Merchantability;
- Fitness for a particular purpose;
- Non-infringement;
- Availability;
- Reliability;
- Accuracy.
Taptiva does not guarantee that the Services will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from security vulnerabilities.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taptiva, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for:
- Indirect losses;
- Consequential losses;
- Special damages;
- Incidental damages;
- Lost profits;
- Lost revenue;
- Loss of data;
- Losses arising from third-party service failures;
- Losses arising from user error.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, Taptiva's total liability shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.
22. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Taptiva, its affiliates, personnel, and service providers from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, expenses, and costs arising from:
- Your use of the Services;
- Your violation of these Terms;
- Your violation of applicable laws;
- Your misuse of the platform.
23. Privacy
Your use of Taptiva is also governed by the Taptiva Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information.
24. Changes to These Terms
Taptiva may update these Terms from time to time.
Updated Terms become effective upon publication unless otherwise stated.
Continued use of the Services after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
25. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
